Today I have created a group on Facebook so that I can get an idea of
how we archive ourselves online via social media. I realise this of course is
not a new way of capturing yourself in a specific moment in time as for
century’s people have been painting and sculpting self portraits, but it is the
most popular way we now preserve ourselves digitally with nearly all of us
constantly having a camera by our side via our mobile phones.
I am very pleased as I have already had a fantastic response to this
group and people have been submitting their selfies via the group, I have
chosen not to include members from my course in this group as they would be the
ones viewing it and like Narcissus could become too focused on their own
image.
Here is what I have put on the group…
I need all of your help if you are
willing to take part in my final film for my BA Film and moving image
production.
What I need from you are . . . Selfies
pictures of yourself taken either with a
phone/ipad camera to make up a photo roman in the second part to my piece
called
All those moments, lost in time
Any Help would be greatly appreciated

This now incorporates the NUA Release form as due to the large number of people adding images and their distance from myself I am unable to get signatures from all who take part. In total there are now over 60
images submitted to contribute to the film.
