6 New Direction

After having a tutorial, where i had shown what I had so far, with selfies and all,  I found myself at a loss, what was the point of my piece? Did it make sense? But more importantly I couldn’t explain it, I knew what I wanted it to be and how I wanted it to look but it was just a mess, there was no focus for my idea and no theme that was strong enough to be seen by the film alone. At this point I began to lose hope and confidence in my idea, I needed to have an area of focus and a structure to the piece that not only incorporate my themes but also gets the theme across to the audience.

I have decided that the best way to show someone’s digital archiving is by using myself as an example, all of the ways I myself have used to document my own life and also how my family documented theirs before me. I will also use parts of everything I have ever filmed be it before my time at university and also the projects on this course and my foundation degree, this seems to be very fitting as it is all coming to an end.

My own personal digital archive will be represented via images from social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and others. Also I shall be collecting and scanning in images from my families past in the form of family photographs.
